{Hiking Chamonix} Les Flegere

Les Flegere is part of a ski resort that has a ton of trails that are so easy to access. From our camp spot in Les Praz, we walked maybe a mile (probably less) to get to the trail head. With it's south facing location, Les Flegere gives you endless views of Mont Blanc and the entire Graian Alp mountain range. It was cool seeing it from a different view, in the opposite direction from our previous times. We had another perfect day of rich blue skies, a blasting warmth of sunshine and magnificent views the entire day.

Once we reached the top, we soaked in the views as far as the eye could see and dreamed about skiing here someday. It looks like a really fun mountain to play on, whether its hiking, trail running, skiing, or snowboarding, Les Flegere is the mountain to be on.

The pinnacle structure on the right is the top of Aiguille du Midi were we were the day before.

Mont Blanc in black and white.

Another view of Mont Blanc and part of the Graian Alps.

The mountains surrounding the Mer du Glace glacier - where we did our first hike in Chamonix.

Another really cool thing about hiking in Chamonix is that you can start at one trail head and take a different route down and then hop on a train that will take you home (or to where you started from). It's pretty sweet.

Next up, two hours in Zermatt, Switzerland.

Happy Trekkin'!
