After Heinz and I enjoyed a scrumptious lunch in Zermatt, we opted to make our way really anywhere the weather was better. With the kind of day we were having we were tired and a bit grouchy. Sleep, more food and relaxation is what we needed.
When got off the train in Brig, we found the tourist office and asked about camping or hostels, none of which were available in this hip little city. We tossed around the idea of going to Lugano but once we found out how long it would take us to get there, we decided we needed to stay put in Brig to regroup. We shelled out the money to stay at the cheapest hotel available which included breakfast (all-you-can-eat fancy-style European breakfast), that was worth the price of the room alone.
Another unplanned pit stop, but it's something that we needed to keep our sanity. We ended up having a blast in Brig. We wandered around town, checked out an awesome castle that was right across the street from our hotel, and made dinner from the local markets goodies down the street. It was a fun time, unplanned and all, I'm glad we were able to Brig out.

Smile says it all - we are dry, warm, and have a bed to sleep in tonight.
