{Arches N.P.} Fiery Furnace

The Fiery Furnace is a favorite spot for Heinz & I to explore in Arches National Park. An endless maze of red rock pillars with nooks and crannies to climb over, under and through, it's a place for the wanderer at heart.
In order to get off the beaten path and into the furnace you must obtain a hiking permit at the visitor center. It may seem like a hassle but it's nothing more than a few dollars and well worth it. Unlike other hikes and lookouts in Arches, the Fiery Furnace does not have one specific and straightforward trail and their are several spots that require rope and a little more experience than a simple out and back hiking trail. The park also offers guided tours of the Fiery Furnace which can be a great way to get your feet wet. For more info - check it out here.
