Bahia Concha is a beautiful beach in a calm bay not far from the city of Santa Marta. When we got done with our trek to Ciudad Perdida, a nice, relaxing beach day was just what we needed.
To get there, Amber and I took a cab to a small neighborhood near Bastidas where mototaxi's (motorcycles) and 4x4 trucks were waiting. We opted to go in the 4x4 truck due to the fact that mototaxi's look sketchy and we didn't want to be split up.
There is a fee to get into Bahia Concha that was included in our ride in the 4x4. There are buses that go into Bahia Concha for less money but they are very slow going. We did however decide to take the local bus out of Bahia Concha at the end of the day and a taxi-van to get back to Santa Marta. It was definitely a local experience for a fraction of the price.
If you are staying in Santa Marta, a day trip to Bahia Concha is well worth the few transfers it takes to get there. Walk to the end of the beach and you will definitely find solitude.
Until next time,
