Labor Day Shenanigans

Over the long Labor Day weekend, Heinz and I decided to do a little backpacking and then meet up with friends that were car camping in the area. We started off in Murdock Basin, which we were not familiar with, but trekked on anyway. We headed out south, following the Duchesne River and hiked  until dusk. We made camp on top of some cliffs that overlooked the river and settled in for the evening.
The following morning, we packed up and headed for another spot that was situated close to our friends. We weren't sure of the trail name that we were on, so we named it the Mushroom Trail because there were mushrooms growing everywhere. We also ran into some cows and a bull. That bull did not take his eye's off us.
Eventually we found a perfectly quiet spot by a small lake - really a pond, that had a beautiful view of a water fall.
Although the weekend didn't go down like we had planned, it ended up being a fun time. Sometimes you just have to make the most out of a situation and roll with the punches.
Until next time,
Happy Trekkin'.
