Last week I had the pleasure of meandering through an oh so familiar area and stumbled upon some wildlife that made me say, "lucky me".
I was hiking on the Millicent side at Brighton in Big Cottonwood Canyon and I happened to run into a momma moose and her two babies. Luckily the momma got up or else I think I would have literally ran right into them which could have been a whole different story here. The moment I heard the crackling of the tree branches, I took a quick look behind my shoulder, saw mom, and scurried up to a higher point. When I was in a safe zone, I was able to really take a look and I realized that it wasn't just momma, but two babies by her side. I was incredibly elated that I was able to see both momma and her babies together. You normally don't see babies, specially when they are this young. This whole interaction made my day and I kept thinking how lucky I was to be able to see these guys. At the time I was kicking myself for not having my best camera with me and a tripod, but it was still a wonderful sight. I could have watched these guys all day.
Have a great week.
Until next time,
