The Sacré-Coeur Basilica, also known as the Sacred Heart, is another one of Paris's beautiful churches. The majestic building is located on top of the Montmartre hill, where you will find amazing views of the city along with talented street artists. We weren't allowed to take photographs in the church with obvious reason. The church itself is very beautiful and sacred and I left with another great feeling of love and peace. Another great thing is that the weather was perfect. Blue skys and everything.
Just around the corner from the grand church was the artist square where I was fortunate enough to get my portrait drawn by a true Parisian artist. I have never had my portrait done before, so it was like a dream to be standing on the streets of Paris being someones muse for the moment.
While we were leaving the Sacré-Coeur Basilica, I decided to jog down several flights of stairs when I was caught off guard by an African gentlemen selling homemade bracelets. Before I knew it I had a customized bracelet around my wrist and 9 euros less in my wallet. I looked over and saw that mom had gotten dooped as well. Crap! These guys were slick, and knew exactly what they were doing. Lesson learned, always be READY to say NO THANKS and walk away. Luckily, 9 euros didn't break the bank, but it was the principle of the situation. Still a little steamed about it. Grrrr.
The Sacré-Coeur Basilica is just gorgeous, the Parisian scammers, they're just a$$holes. Another beautiful adventure in Paris.
Until next time,
