OK, so before you totally hit delete and think/say, "Really Juliette? Really? A post about what you like about yourself? WOW, so humble." Hey, I get it but hear me out a second.
Most of us, including me being the number one culprit, are constantly trying to improve ourselves and live the best life possible (hey isn't this a good thing?). Sometimes while living life, I find myself slip into what I call the comparison cycle. I compare physical fitness, accomplishments, failures, acquired belongings, abilities, money or lack there of and so on with others. I know I am not the only one who does this. Comparing isn't a bad thing, I think that it is in our nature to compare and strive for better. It's the lack of self love that makes comparing a slippery slope.
Sometimes I forget that I am great just for being me. No bells and whistles about that. Just plan and simple truth. We all have something awesome about ourselves and it's time to start sharing it dammit!
On that note, I want to start writing What I Love About Me (WILAM) posts (every so often), focusing on the things that I love within myself and project that inner confidence outward. This is not about being cocky or conceded, it is about stopping for a moment and realizing that we all have wonderful gifts, talents, and attributes, so lets highlight them. The goal here is that there is no limitation to what you love about you. You can love anything from physical attributes to doing awesome at your job, it doesn't really matter what it is, as long as you take a little time every so often and love yourself. Sky's the limit and I hope you will join me in having a little (or a lot) of self proclaimed awesomeness.
There is something that changes inside me when I smile. It's like the warmth of the sunshine on your face on a cold day. It just makes you happy inside. Yup, it's a good one and I think I'll keep it!
