I like to run. I wouldn't call myself a runner though, to me it never really fit.
A few years ago I was much more into running and completed my first and only half marathon. It was great, I felt great, and I swore that I would stick with it, but I didn't. After I finished my half, I got into weight lighting, which I adore and my running was a hit or miss activity. There are so many activities I love to do, it is hard to commit to running for that sole purpose. Running takes time. Running takes effort. Running is hard. For me, I have to stay very consistent with running or it's like starting from scratch. I have only done one running race since my half marathon and it was a 10K this past November. I was out of shape but it was fun.
I want to run. I want to call myself a runner. I have committed to several running races this year and will continue to run as a part of an active lifestyle. Now I know that races don't make anyone a runner, but I need the challenge that comes with training for a race.
One of the biggest races for me is called RAGNAR Relay Wasatch Back, which is a trail relay race that starts in Logan, Utah and ends in Park City, Utah. To me being on a team is motivation enough not to be the underdog. I hate being the weakest link, so I am working extra hard to do well for myself and my team. Preparing for this event (which is in June) has made me think of other races I want to do, including another half marathon and who knows what else.
So... I guess all there is to do now is run.

Until next time,
Happy Trekkin'.
