Polihule Beach, West Shore

During our planning for our Kauai trip, Heinz & I wanted to experience as much of the island as we could. So it was kind of obvious to camp around the whole island and check things out. The night we arrived at Polihule Beach was interesting to say the least. As we made our way through the darkness, we soon realized that Polihule was a local overnight spot. Setting up camp in the dark is one thing, but setting up around a bunch of locals is a bit intimidating when all you really want is a nice spot to sleep.
Luckily we didn't have any incidents and everyone enjoyed within their own space.

We were glad we trekked all the way out to the furthest part on the west shore, but we knew that one night at this beach was PLENTY. The beach is beautiful and seems never ending, but the camp grounds were just OK. Like I said, it was a local hang out and in the middle of no-where, so you get what you pay for sort of thing. And at $10 a night, you can't go too wrong.
Until next time,
Happy Trekkin'.
