After getting off the Kalalau trail on the Na Pali Coast, Heinz and I planned to camp close by at Haena Beach, which is where we "camped" our first night in Kauai.
We were off the Kalalau trail by noon, which meant we had most of the day to get a nice meal (dehydrated-free, hooray), set up camp and take some time to go swimming and snorkeling and just plain R-E-L-A-X.
Haena Beach - another beauty.
We set up camp on the grassy park area, underneath some big shady trees. What a great view, eh.
Haena Beach is the place where a lot of backpackers spend the night before hitting the Na Pali Coast. We met some fun people from all over, but mostly from the mountainous places like Colorado, Lake Tahoe, and northern California. It was really fun to meet other people like us.
And the sunsets never disappoint.
I wish I had a picture or two of our amazing meal that we had the minute we got off the Na Pali Coast. We decided on a whim to eat at a local restaurant called, Kalypso Island Bar and Grill which had the best fish taco's. Talk about fresh, it was the best.
Well, that about does it for this post.
Until next time,
