At the end of the Kalalau beach, there are cliffs that separate it from another beach called Honopu. The only way to get over to Honopu beach is either by boat or to swim. Since our chartered yacht was on break (ha ha), we had to swim. The first obstacle was getting past the 10 foot waves that were crashing onto the beach. The second obstacle was swimming out far enough so that the waves wouldn't pick us up and crash us into the rocks.
Heinz and I waited for our moment and then we swam like hell. It was pretty exciting swimming to another beach were there were NO souls in sight.
Honopu beach was our private slice of paradise.
Hey, there's more beach over there.
Another look at Honopu Arch.
Just as we were approaching another waterfall, it started to rain.
Doesn't get much sweeter than that.
Until next time,
