Ba-Bye Kalalau Beach

Leaving Kalalau Beach was hard. The night before, Heinz and I planned to get up very early to beat the heat or any potential weather and get our hineys off the Na Pali Coast. We knew it was going to be a hard day not just physically but emotionally as well. The hardest part was leaving our piece of paradise behind and settling into society again.

On our last night on Kalalau Beach, Heinz and I slept under the stars. There is something about hearing the crashing of the waves, a bright white moon gleaming on the sand, and a zillion stars to make you feel like you are on another planet. It was perfect.

Our morning start. It's too early.

We made excellent time hiking off the Na Pali Coast. Again, we were lucky to have weather that cooperated, no injuries that held us back, and good spirits that kept any physical rigorous efforts seem like a cake walk.

Crazy parts of the trail.

Mountain goats!

So glad we got an early start.

 Don't fall, 'n' K.

 Still in good spirits.

We made it back. 4 days: lots of sun, sweat, fun, and tears.

Goodbye Kalalau Beach and hello Haena Beach. Not all is lost.

Until next time,
Happy Trekkin'.
