Hiking: Big Pool, Kalalau Valley

We hiked up through the jungle in Kalalau canyon and along the river to a spot called, Big Pool. Big Pool was of course was a big pool of water, surrounded by lush green plants and fruit trees. The water was burly cold, but beautiful none the less.
Hiking up into the Kalalau Valley.

At Big Pool. As always, the views are stunning.

Heinz caught this little guys, but he was quick to escape after his photo shoot.

These leaves remind me of the movie Jurassic Park. Every thing is bigger in Kauai, as far as the plants go.

A nice panoramic of the mountains.

Heinz was the only brave sole to dip into Big Pool. It was way too cold for me.

With that, a quick 4 mile hike that seemed like a walk in the park compared to the previous day. There is still lots of beauty ahead, so stick around and stay awhile.

Until next time,
Happy Trekkin'.
