Hi, long time no see or long time no post is more like it. May has been a wonderfully fun and somewhat adventurous month. First off, I got my cast off at the beginning of the month, which couldn't have come off any sooner. I had to see a hand surgeon to rule out the possibility of surgery and luckily there was no need for any of that nonsense. My hand is healing well and getting stronger every day, hooray!
Second, I spilled into a new decade, as I turned 30 this month. Hooray for me!
I can't tell you how ecstatic I am to be in my thirties. I know it's only been a hot minute, but I'm loving every minute of it. Getting older suites be quite well.
Heinz and I did a little celebrating the weekend before because on my actual birthday, I was going hiking. Come on, what else did you expect?
I have two rules for my birthday, I don't work and I do what makes me happy. My huge (oh, and when I say huge birthday hike I'm talking a mile for every age huge) birthday hike was on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, which is a popular foothill trail for running, mountain biking, and hiking.
I started my birthday
bright dark and early.
My headlamp got me through my early morning start.
Early morning light.
The sun finally reaches me.
Beautiful flowers all along the trail.
Speaking of flowers, here are some birhtday flowers that my mom sent me.
Oh ya, back to my birthday hike.
Hooray, a butterfly. What a lucky day.
The smile and thumbs up are just for show, however, I made it and it feels great.
30 is looking pretty good!
Until next time,
