Trekkin Tuesday's - Twin Lakes Reservoir

As I've mentioned before in the direction for my blog, I want to start posting more about weekly hikes and adventure's not only that Heinz & I do, but also solo trips as well. I will try to talk about or show the current conditions, difficulty, elevation, as well as mileage of these hikes and my overall opinion.

I hope you enjoy reading about the hikes as much as I love to do them.

Twin Lakes Reservoir is more like a Sunday stroll than an actual hike. It is friendly for all types, abilities and a nice way to get out into the mountain air. Starting from the base of the Milly Express ski lift at Brighton Ski Resort you hike on the service road that winds up and spits you out at the base of the reservoir. This is about a mile and a half hike one way or three miles round trip.

Due to the fact that this reservoir is in a water shed, there is no swimming.
I think the ice floating in the water would deter you enough from wanting to take a dip anyway. Yes, there is still snow and ice to deal with, but it is melting out fairly quickly.

You are actually hiking on parts of Brighton Ski Resort. Here are the signs for the ski runs.
Some crazy huge mushrooms. Please don't eat:)

A shy less than 9,000 ft. in elevation, this is an easy, breezy light hearted hike that is perfect for any out and about beginner.
