10 Years and Counting

It has been 10 years since I jumped off a cliff, shattered my left calcaneus (heel bone), and flipped my world upside down.

Here are some x-ray photos from my first and second surgeries. We are talking real hardware people!

Although this was a life changing event, it has brought forth self perseverance and determination to accomplish the things I was told I could not do. Sometimes the challenges in life turn out to be a positive life lesson that promote strength, courage, and growth.

When all was said and done, I ended up with 11 screws and a 6 inch plate. Today only the 6 inch plate and 1 long screw remains holding my heel together.

To celebrate my accomplishments with my injured foot, I decided to write a short story of the events and really capture the moment. You can check out my short story, "Cliff Jump"
