Gym Annoyance #2 - Gym Germs


This is actually gym annoyance #1 because it affects the health of others, so talking on the cell phone will have to take a back seat.

It is very annoying to me when I see people sweating their guts out on an elliptical machine or stationary bike and see them just walk away without wiping down the equipment. Ah gross, anyone else with me. The gym provides disinfecting sprays to wipe down your machine when your are done exercising on it and still people don't take the 30 seconds to do it.

Bacteria is crawling in all of the nooks and crannies of a gym and when people don't wipe down, it just adds to the grossness and could cause infections to others. The picture above is of a bacteria infection know as "staph" or (staphylococcal), which is a disease of the skin. It can result in a boil or abscess on the skin which can be very painful and cause flu-like symptoms if spread. No one wants that.

Here are 3 tips to help prevent gym germs:
1.) Wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands.
2.) Wipe down gym equipment before & after use.
3.) Use your own gym towel.
