5K at Saltair & Trip to Albertsons

To get prepared for my half marathon in the spring and as part of my training, I signed up for a 30K series of races. It consists of a 5K, 10K, and ends with a 15K. All of the race's are a few weeks apart and are held at The Great Saltair. Back in the day, The Saltair was like a west coast Coney Island. Here is a picture of the Saltair resort in 1920. Pretty sweet!

Here are a few pics from the race...

Before the race, excited!

You can see the Saltair in the background. It's not as glamorous as it used to be, but still pretty cool.

Not a bad turn out for being freezing cold & bad air quality.

Heinz took some photos of the dead cattails & The Great Salt Lake while he was waiting.

After the race a little pooped, but still sort of smilin.

Oh ya, Heinz & I finally made it out to Albertsons. OK, I know what your thinking.. but Heinz & I were given a gift card to Albertsons for our Thanksgiving dinner (yeah I know, Thanksgiving was months ago) and the only Albertsons left in Utah is in Tooele. Since the Saltair is on the way to Tooele, we decided to make the trip.

Have you ever seen two people so happy to be at Albertsons?
We bought a lot of goods and want to give a big thanks to Rosy & Michael for the thoughtful & generous gift card. We love you! P.S. Check out Heinz in his Terminator sunnies:)
